Acting Justly

On Friday(11/8/06) I attended a talk on Discipleship by Fr. Bernie Lane. Fr. Bernie is from the Community of Columban Mission, it is a small order of priest who do mission work in Phillipines, Peru, China, Sri Lanka and many other countries. Well, his talk was a lil boring, but i did not go back empty handed. He handed out a flyer called Gospel of Life which talked on Acting Justly. This phrase from the Bible that was in the flyer strucked me most.
"What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?" Micah6:8
I quote from the flyer
"Acting justly in our day to day lives is different from knowing about justice. It means taking action now and not being paralyzed by uncertainty. It means overcoming our blindness to oppression and having the courage to do what we can."
What are we doing for the world? Ohh... just forget that question...
Lets see... What have we done for our neighbour?
As Micah had said in chapter 6 verse 8" What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God?"
Do I care for the ppl around me? Normally, if i were to see a junkie while on the way back home, I will try my very best to avoid that person, but in actual point I believe that, that guy is God which would mean i am not walking humbly with my God. This is totally against Micah's writtings. I have planned out ways I can overcome this phobia if u like. I will update you guys once everything is concrete.
I shall leave something for you all to ponder...
We always believe wht our friends, politicians, lecturers, newspaper say but we often question the Bible and the teachings of the church. Why do we do that? How can we overcome this? Drop a comment and share with me ur thoughts.
